Limited Wifi connectivity

The computer looks beautiful, but I couldn't connect to the internet! Internet connection would randomly become 'limited'. I sent the computer back and they sent me a new one with the same problem. I updated drivers and nothing would fix it. If this is a problem with the intel wifi card I wish HP knew how to fix it.

This product has everything that I needed

Smooth design with lighted keyboard for nighttime work in bed....just don't open the lid while it sits on your legs or you will get pinched....It could also use a DVD/CD player....otherwise it takes a while to get used to the Windows 8 features, but it is fast, very fast and meets my needs.

Horrible and embarrassing when people are all over your new laptop at school believing your PC is better than a Mac. Then this happens. Also, Beats audio is nothing if you don't have the headphones connected to the laptop. It sounds the same comparing to my old HP dv6 1245dx. STABILITY: Laptop locks constantly with in 5min without the use and must enter password over and over again. SERVICE: The technical support was not even able to fix the problem. i called and had them connect to my PC more then 4 times and still each technical support has faced problems like this and cant fix it. smh COOL SENSE: Just a name. This laptop get over heated and there's only one place where the fan is located. extremely gets hot and makes loud noise, slightly less then my 4 year old laptop. WI-FI: shuts down randomly. Lose connection, then must shut off wifi then on again to connect once more. BATTERY: Very poor. get about 2&1/2 hours of battery life very bad, need to carry the charger all times There's still good things about this laptop. Display, lightweight, backlight keyboard, start up speed, 8g ram and The TOUCH is perfect and great to have. My girlfriends loves this and gets attention. Also, my niece and nephew love to draw on it and color in one of the painting app. Windows 8 is great and awesome. Its the future.

The Spectre XT is a very well designed and well built laptop. I appreciate the pound or so I lost from my last laptop, although calling it an Ultrabook is a bit of a stretch. The screen is beautiful but the very high resolution on a 15" screen results in unreadable print on many web pages and apps. Fortunately HP has made it easy to change the resolution as needed, and there is some third party software that does the job even easier and better. The keyboard has an unusual feel to it, but in actual use it is excellent, with extremely good backlighting. The touchpad is by far the best I've ever used (except when I borrow my wife's MacBook Pro, but the HP is just as good). I would have liked a separate graphics card for photo processing, but the Intel is fine for everything else except gaming (which I don't care about). Overall the Spectre has all the features and speed I need for almost every type of use. My only problem: Windows 8 is a disaster. Fortunately there is some good third party software available that make Windows 8 look and act very much like Windows 7. Oh, one other minor complaint: HP has packaged a lot of "crapware" on the machine. Just a nuisance getting rid of it all on start up.
